The Maritime Association of Ship Owners, Ship Managers and Agents (MASSA) recently announced a reward scheme for students undergoing Preparatory courses for COCs at both its Academies in Navi Mumbai and Chennai.

All students who have completed the Preparatory courses of 2nd Mate, Chief Mate Phase I, Chief Mate Phase II, or MEO Class II at the respective academies and have passed all the functions of the related MMD Written Examination in first attempt; will be recognised and offered one Simulator Course free of cost at any of its Academies.

Simulator Courses available are ROSC/ARPA/RANSCO/ECDIS/LCHS/SMS/ERS (Mgmt)/Diesel Engine Combustion. For SMS rebate is 50% if one of the two Phase1 or Phase 2 is cleared in first attempt and 100% if both written are cleared in first attempt.

This scheme will be initially for a period of 1 year for students enrolling at its academies between the dates 1st December 2021 to 31 December 2022. Eligible students can avail of this free offered Simulator Course at any of its Academies within 2 years of the declaration of results of respective MMD Examination.
