94 FP – Maritime’s Biggest Gender Conference is back

The TOOL Aquarium Conference Platform will host the 2nd Maritime SheEO digital conference on Thursday, November 25th – Celebrating Diversity, Change Makers, and Sustainable Solutions. Ms Sanjam Sahi Gupta, Founder, Maritime SheEO, has conceptualised the conference.

The Keynote Speakers include: Mr Kitack Lim, Secretary General, International Maritime Organization (IMO); Ms Natasa Pilides, Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, Republic of Cyprus; and Mr Bjørnar Selnes Skjæran, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy, Norway.

With over 130 speakers from 30 countries the impressive line-up of speakers include: Capt Juan Maltez, Director General, Directorate of Seafarers, Panama Maritime Authority; Mr Amitabh Kumar, Director General of Shipping, GOI; and Mr Mick Kinley, CEO, The Australian Maritime Safety Authority; Ms Ley Hoon Quah, Chief Executive, Maritime and Ports Authority, Singapore.

Ms Vinita Venkatesh, Managing Director, Ocean2Door; and Dr Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President, World Maritime University will share their inspiring My SheEO Stories.

A special session on the important role media plays in highlighting female role models in the maritime industry will see discussions from media representatives from The Hindu, ShippingInsights, Lloyd’s List, Tradewinds, and Image Line Communication.

The CEO Commitment – a fireside chat session will see Ms Sanjam Sahi Gupta, Founder, Maritime SheEO in conversation with Capt Rajesh Unni, Founder & CEO, Synergy Marine Group.

Ms Tone Helene Aarvik, Deputy Consul General, Royal Norwegian Consulate General, Mumbai (India) will moderate the session on Social Entrepreneurs working towards the goal of Clean Oceans which will have Graeme Somerville-Ryan, Founder & Officer, EYESEA, USA, and Afroz Shah, United Nations – Champion of the Earth, India on the panel.

Other sessions include Passing the Baton In Business – from father to daughter; The Right Fit will be moderated by Capt Gajanan Karanjikar, Port Consultant & President – AIMPA (India), Women Who Were First: Paving the Way and Widening the Road will see global women who were firsts including President of The Nautical Institute, Jillian Carson-Jackson and Şadan Kaptanoğlu, Managing Director of HI Kaptanoglu Shipping, the first female President of BIMCO.

Other interesting topics that will be discussed at the conference include Women on Boards – Why They Matter, Best Practices – The Business Case for Diversity and Connectivity, and Data Integration – A Key Driver of Technological Advances.

Well-known shipping veterans will be speaking at the conference, providing opportunities to learn from and an opportunity to network.

There will be four screens streaming content with one screen dedicated to Navigating Your Career. There are also a few closed sessions as well, where people can learn to have conversations in an environment that feels safe to them.
