The Executive Council of the Indian Maritime University at its meeting on 20^th April gave its accent to the CMMI – IMU collaboration that paves the way for the establishment of a Policy Research Cell for the country.

The initiative is led from CMMI by voluntary services of Capt S Kishore, former Managing Director of Kongsberg Digital Software and Services and from IMU by Prof Dr Sivakholundu, Dean, Academics.

The collaborative strength of the highly experienced maritime professionals from the various verticals of the maritime domain that comprise the CMMI membership, and the ground-level empirical research by the scholars at the Indian Maritime University, will ensure necessary rigour and bring forth robust policy level inputs on which strategic directions can be implemented.

This initiative symbolises what a perfect industry – academia collaboration should be for the benefit of the country.
