Capt Ranjit Kumar Muduli has been appointed as the new Principal Officer (Nautical) cum Joint Director General (Technical) in the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS).

Capt Muduli plans to work on the overall (digital) upgradation of the Department with the focus on further enhancing Education and Vessel Safety Norms. To begin with, he plans to resume the regime of routine surveys, operations (Port State & Flag State) of inspecting the vessels entering/ leaving the country, which had been disrupted during the past year following the pandemic protocols.

He has been advocating digitalization, especially digitalizing and revamping of the examination system on priority for maximum candidates and the industry to be benefited from it.

Capt Muduli, a stalwart who joined the department in 2001, has an array of innovations to his credit. In fact, in 2015 he was the one responsible for initiating digitalization of the entire examination system.

Capt Muduli has been highly successful in carrying out his responsibilities while serving at the post of Dy. Nautical Advisor-cum Sr. Deputy Director General (Tech), at Kochi.
