Norwegian Consul General Visits IMTC, Lauds Technological Advancement

 

His Excellency Mr Arne Jan Flølo, Consul General, Royal Norwegian Consulate General (Mumbai), visited the International Maritime Training Centre (IMTC) at Powai, Mumbai on June 1st.

 

Capt Chinna S Ruparaju, General Manager, Wilhelmsen Ship Management, Competence Development & Training; Capt Kunal Katyal, General Manager, Marine Personnel, Wilhelmsen Ship Management; and Mr Jamie Pereira, Head – Financial & Shared Services, Wilhelmsen Ship Management, welcomed the Chief Guest Mr Flølo, along with Lyder Ulvan, Intern at the Norwegian Consulate, and Mr Dnyanesh Sukhtankar, representative of Norway India Business Association.

 

Lighting the traditional diyas was followed by the formal introduction of the guests from DNV GL and Kongsberg, along with the staff of IMTC.

 

Mr Flølo was full of praise for the technological infrastructure and advanced simulators available with IMTC, making learning a good experience for the young enthusiastic students.

 

Addressing a section of the students and staff, Mr Flølo briefly recalled about the history of bilateral business & maritime relations between Norway and India. Acknowledging Wilhelmsen as one of the best known Norwegian Maritime Company he encouraged Wilhelmsen to follow its path in maintaining a diverse culture across the spectrum.

 

Concluding the occasion, Capt Chinna presented mementos to all the dignitaries and expressing his gratitude, said, “If time is money, then you have spent millions with us.”
