MPA celebrates 150^th Anniversary

On 26th June Mumbai Port Authority (MPA) celebrated 150 years (1873-2023) at Durbar Hall, Asiatic Society in Mumbai.

In honour of it’s glorious history a special Board Meeting was held; where Mr Rajiv Jalota (IAS), Chairperson, MPA welcomed the Board Members and Head of the Departments. He appreciated the port employees tireless contributions and endeavours for the development and progress of the port.

A History Book on 150th years of Mumbai Port was unveiled and a short film on 150 glorious journey of Mumbai Port was released.

Mr Jalota felicitated all the Board Members and Trustees of Asiatic Society.

Mrs Subhada Patwardhan, Secretary (I/c) proposed the vote of thanks.

The first meeting of Trustees of erstwhile Bombay Port Trust under the Chairmanship of Colonel JA Ballard was held on 26th June 1873 in Durbar Hall of Asiatic Society.

And even the meeting of Board of  Trustees of Mumbai Port Trust to commemorate 125 Years of it’s establishment was held in Durbar Hall, Asiatic Society on 26th June 1998.
