Global Shipmanning & Training Summit in Mumbai themed: ‘Preparing for 2050’

The ‘ATPI-MAREX Global Shipmanning and Training Summit 2023’, is scheduled this week on 13-14 September at the ITC Grand Maratha Hotel in Mumbai.

Starting Wednesday, the two-day summit aims to facilitate insightful discussions, foster knowledge sharing, and promote collaboration in the realm of shipmanning & training within the larger maritime ecosystem.

Speaking to Marex about this very significant conference in the maritime calendar, Capt Rajesh Tandon, Deputy Chair, Board of Advisors of this global summit, said, “The Global Ship Manning & Training Summit proposes to bring together speakers and industry experts covering a wide range of topics and domain expertise.

“It will be an interesting two days. We eagerly look forward to hearing from them all.”

The summit will be graced by eminent personalities of the likes of Mr Shyam Jagannathan, IAS, Director General of Shipping; Dr (Mrs) Malini V Shankar, IAS (Retd) Vice Chancellor, Indian Maritime University; HE Mrs Yasiel Burillo, Ambassador, Republic of Panama; and Capt Belal Ahmed, Chairman International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC).
Mr Stephen Cotton, General Secretary, International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), Mr. Helio Vicente of the International Chamber of Shipping; Capt Naoki Saito, General Manager and Head of Cyber Security, Maritime Education and Training Certification Department, Innovation Development Division, Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK); and Mr. Adrian Stray of Stray Partners of Norway are some of the prominent speakers from overseas.
Elaborating on the significance of this event, Capt Kamal Chadha, MD, Marex Media, the Organizers of this seafaring Summit that is making an appearance after a long hiatus of over 10 years, said: “This is an event of great magnitude and importance for the Shipmanning and Training industry.
