While Capt Kamal Chadha MD, Marex Media Pvt Ltd. was the moderator of the discussion, the panelists included Capt. M.P. Bhasin, Managing Director, MSC Crewing Services Pvt Ltd.; Charles Watkins, Clinical Psychologist & Founder, Mental Health Support Solutions, Germany; Sanjam Gupta, Director, Sitara Shipping & Founder Member WISTA; Capt. Philip Mathews, Director, Seven Islands Maritime Training Foundation; Capt Mohan Naik, Director, Dynacom Tankers Management Pvt ltd; and Capt. KN Deboo, Director & Principal, Anglo-Eastern Maritime Training Centre.
Discussing various issues on better Ship Management & Crew Welfare, the panel talks were focused on putting the maritime sector on the career radar for young people, along with addressing issues of harassment, bullying and other psychological disturbances, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, healthy workplace for seafarers so as to have a higher retention rate.
Moreover it deliberated on both gender equality & equity so as to have more women seafarers on board, along with financial and overall security of seafarers.
