95 HL – CMMI Commences Part C Extra Masters Course- KC

The Company of Master Mariners of India (CMMI) last week commenced its course on Extra Master’s Part C, with the inaugural online classes held on Saturday November 18.

While Capt S Sasikumar CEO, CMMI, coordinated the on-line event introducing everyone along with the Chief guest Capt Dr Ashutosh Apandkar, Principal T. S. Rahman, amidst the seventeen participating students enrolled for the course.

Capt MP Bhasin, Chairman, CMMI, welcomed everyone for the inaugural session following which Capt Apandkar with his brief message announced the official commencement of the Extra Master’s – Part C.

Capt Y Sharma conducted the induction program, offering a brief synopsis of the course that falls under the arena of higher education, mentioning that the programme shall be more of ‘Participant led’ and not ‘Faculty led’.

The course will help students acquire knowledge and gain new perspectives about ‘Maritime’ along with developing analytical and managerial skills. The programme will have three modules, focusing on i) Marine Environment & Ocean Governance, ii) Port Management, iii) Commercial Shipping Management.

The syllabus of the said course will be adhered to as stated in DGS Training Circular 01 of 2019.

The online contact classes will be conducted on Weekends, approximately for the duration of three months with an overall tutoring of over 120 hours. The batch commencing on 18th November ’23, shall conclude on 4th February 2024, with MMD exam likely to be scheduled in second or third week of February 2024.

The faculty for the programme include; Capt C.M. Srivastava, Capt Arun Karkare, Capt S. G. Deshpande, Mr Tony Fernandez, Capt Ramji Krishnan, and Capt Y. Sharma.

Capt Vivek Bhandarkar, Secretary General, CMMI wished good luck to all the student participants and concluded with a vote of Thanks.
