We will grow; we have various onboard initiatives to engage our seafarers…
We had done a detailed survey of seafarers earlier in the year comprising of various nationalities: Indian, Filipino, Italian and East European. Taking a further cue we plan to have a more interactive and engaging atmosphere on board for our seafarers. With technological upgradation we are also designing strategy on ‘Human upskilling’ to ensure overall development. And yes, we are planning for growth in a phased manner over a period of time.
– Ing. Silvia Zachhello, MD, Marwave Italy.
We are a ‘Tanker owner’ definitely looking for growth…
After the Pandemic this is the first meeting at which we have been able to interact as people-to-people, and it’s really important and a great feeling to be with all of them who help the company work and grow. We have our presence in Netherlands, Italy, Singapore and India and are definitely looking forward to grow gradually despite the turbulent market conditions. While we have a diverse culture, Indians makes up almost over 60-70 percent of our seafarers. We have a very long relationship with India.
-Claudio Baccichheti, Managing Director, Seaarland Management Services
Ours is a Company with a big family heart…
We are a company with a heart who cares like a Family. We follow the culture of Safety First; it is in our behavior, in our communications and makes for one of our highest values. The one thing we make very clear during our meetings is that Safety Violations cannot be tolerated. The three violations; marine pollution, use of drug and alcohol, gender related abuse and/ or nationality are dealt with very strictly. Also, we have a Diverse Culture at Seaarland as it helps having different nationalities to maintain a just culture for better team management.
Capt Vishal Breja, Director, Seaarland Management Services
We follow standard operational initiatives…
As an organization Marwave and Seaarland are very considerate and it’s all like a well knitted family. Our strength lies in providing an ownership work environment. Also we have been following standard operational initiatives.
We have various training modules, including a hybrid model, to ensure our seafarers are always updated. This was a good experience to have the meeting-in-person after a long period. We have a multinational crew with a diverse culture; however, Indians constitute over 65 % making it a fine balance.
Manoj Sud, Head Operations, Marwave Shipmanagement, The Netherlands
Safety First & SIRE will play a major role…
Safety is paramount on Tankers. There are new strict regulations and with the SIRE coming in force we as seafarers need to be more vigilant. The Ship Inspection Report programme (SIRE), a unique tanker and barge risk assessment tool, will play an even more major role. We need to update ourselves with Safety management systems (SMS) that are important for everyone, and not only officers or Masters on Ships but ratings have to contribute as well. We have been conducting regular sessions to train our officers. We have a wellness program scheduled for de-stressing seafarers.”
Ing. Mauro Ripolli, Head of Safety Marwave, Italy
