After a harrowing time, Ever Given finally sets sail towards Rotterdam. “Finally, Ever Given resumes sailing after a well fought victory. The incident which shook the world will be remembered in history. We wish the very best to Ever Given 25 who are committed seafarers. They are the ones keeping the world alive as our maritime torch bearers,” expressed, Mr Abdulgani Serang, General Secretary cum Treasurer, National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI).
Mr Serang continued that the 25 seafarers onboard were very happy. They were not alone in their fight for justice. They had the support of individuals, NUSI, MUI, Bernard Schulte, maritime administration, Government of India, Indian High Commission, ITF, Egyptian Unions, maritime associations, press and many more.
Mr Serang shared the message of Capt Hanse Kurisinkal, Master, MV Ever Given when the vessel was released, who stated: “It was gratifying to have vessel crew welfare been looked into by NUSI and ITF during vessel stay at Great Bitter Lake.”
