The Maritime History Society conducted the Monsoon Musing II on 01 August at Agastya Auditorium, INHS Asvini at Colaba, Mumbai.

 

The guest speaker, Commodore (Dr) Srikant Kesnur, VSM is a retired Naval Officer. In a career spanning over 36 years, the officer has served in numerous Command and Staff appointments and possesses extensive experience in maritime operations, training, leadership, diplomacy, and administration. In his lecture titled ‘Leadership Lessons of Indian Naval Icons: Adm RL Pereira and other Luminaries’, Commodore Kesnur spoke about the importance of leadership at tactical, operational, and strategic levels that has helped build the Indian Navy and its impact on shaping successful naval operations and strategic decision-making.

 

Citing the example of Late Adm RL Pereira, ex-Chief of the Naval Staff as well as other luminaries, he delved into their life journey highlighting their extraordinary contribution and lasting impact on our nation’s maritime legacy.

 

The guest speaker was felicitated by the Chief Guest, Vice Adm Rajaram Swaminathan, AVSM, NM, DGNP (Mumbai). A diverse audience comprising naval personnel, historians, students and maritime enthusiasts attended the event. The talk was highly informative, motivating and provided valuable takeaways in leadership and naval value system.
