Description: IMO’s initiative to designate 18th May each year as International Day for Women in Maritime is a remarkable achievement towards Gender parity/equality in the Maritime sector, especially for India which is the sixteenth-largest maritime country in the world, yet has a miniscule (less than 2%) number of women working in the maritime field.Marex Media shares the goal to encourage more women to join the maritime sector and hence will be commemorating the International Day for Women in Maritime by bringing forth voices from the maritime sector (both national & international) to deliberate and suggest the way forward for women in the sector.

Kashti Awards are an annual event that recognises individuals for talent, leadership and success in the shipping industry.

The Awards honour achievements in various sectors of shipping, and are finalized by a jury consisting of highly esteemed industry leaders.

Kashti Ratna, Kashti Vibhushan, and Kashti Bhushan are the 3 levels of recognition within the Kashti Awards format. 

Maritime Women-Power Awards, MWA are the first ever honours to express gratefulness to the women leaders of the Indian and international maritime industry.
