MUI-WW Webinar Celebrates Women’s Day

The Women wing of Maritime Union of India MUI-WW held a webinar on Saturday, March 11, 2023 to celebrate the spirit of women driving digital innovation and technological advancement.

The MUI-WW is the welfare arm for seafarers’ families and designated cell for women seafarers. Their online workshop focused on techniques of using ‘Canva’ by Ms Rachna Kaushik, one of the known Influencers and Social Media experts.

Capt. Tushar R. Pradhan (General Secretary) Maritime Union of India, did the honors of setting the forum firmly on its path while Saleha Shaikh, Founder and Head Coordinator at the Women’s Wing of the Maritime Union of India, ensured the program was well managed online and introduced the expert Ms Rachna Kaushik who guided over 50 women participants on using the ‘Canva’ app; a design tool that offers readymade templates helping develop creative asset from social media images, videos, and GIFs to posters, websites, booklets, multimedia presentations and the likes, to upgrade their designing skills.

Saleha Shaikh mentioned that the global theme for 2023 is EmbraceEquity, which is part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness around “Why equal opportunities are no longer enough.” Today is a time to highlight achievements made by women, but also opportunities to become better informed, and collaborate and brainstorm about the path forward.
