Mr Louis Gomes, Vice President, National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) inaugurated the 23rd branch office of NUSI in Karnataka in the presence of Mr Bodh Raj, Surveyor-In-Charge-cum, Dy Director General of Shipping, Government of India and Mr Sunil Nair, Assistant General Secretary, NUSI on Wednesday, 19th July.
Mr Gomes stated “This new NUSI Branch office is proof of long commitment of NUSI to open branch office in Managalore, Karnataka. Now, the entire Indian coastline, together with the islands of Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep are having NUSI branch offices.”
NUSI continues to expand to ensure that more and more NUSI members and their family get the benefits of NUSI Indian and foreign flag agreements and NUSI welfare initiatives.
The inauguration was graced by a large number of seafarers and their families who appreciated NUSI for opening its 23rd branch office in Mangalore, Karnataka. Senior retired seafarers were also felicitated on the occasion.
Team NUSI also had interactive meetings with seafarers and their families of Kozhikode and Cochin in the State of Kerala.
NUSI will continue to work hard for the benefit of seafarers and their families in particular and the shipping fraternity in general.
