The largest single digital solutions company, OneOcean introduces new software called ‘EnviroManager’ to the shipping industry. The software will ensure the teams aboard and ashore to have all the information they need to plan compliant operations along with their voyages that will keep them up to date on all environmental regulations in force and reduce the risk of infractions and heavy fines.

Digital Ship Ltd on behalf of OneOcean organised a webinar on 1^st December to announce the launch of the new software. Mr Karl Jeffery Editor, Digital Ship welcomed and set the floor open for the demonstration of the product. Mr Per Österberg, Product Specialist, OneOcean and Mr Tony Brown, Deputy CTO & Director of Product Delivery, One Ocean gave a demo on EnviroManager that will comply with geographically specific maritime environmental rules

In his address, Mr Jeffery said, “Supporting compliance with geographically specific maritime environmental rules which simply means as different rules apply in different parts of the sea, one needs to know what rules to follow.”

On digital technology, he added, “It is about an approach to use digital technology and give situational awareness to crew and shore side staff, so they exactly know what rules they need to follow which rather than having lots of different information sources.”

Enlightening about EnviroManager software, Mr Österberg stated, “EnviroManager simplifies the information to make it easy for your crew to know what and when a correct discharge can be made.” The company’s innovative solutions connect ships teams, providing our customers with the visibility and real time information that need to support decision making and drive operational excellence.

He also spoke about the challenges faced by them before launching EnviroManager such as the new environmental regulations are coming into force rapidly and existing regulations are changing regularly and also the baselines are misunderstood or unknown on board.

Mr Brown said that his role is to bring digital transformation and digital solutions to the industry. He spoke on how EnviroManager is incorporated into the voyage planning process and how this platform can help to provide answers to the problems.

When it comes to voyage planning and environmental regulations, there are lots of different areas that you have to take care during the whole voyage and we could see there is international and national regulation, Mr Brown mentioned.

In conclusion, EnviroManager is a simple, user-friendly module of OneOcean that allows users ship and shoreside to visualise and understand where environmental regulations are in effect, and plan passages that are safe and compliant.
