Rituparna Sengupta Revs up Ananda Utsav Durga Puja in Mumbai

‘Durga Pujo’, the festival that signifies the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and the power of the divine to protect the world, is celebrated with fun & frolic across the city of Mumbai, mainly by its Bengali population, but also with significant numbers of other communities joining in.
Rituparna Sengupta, the National Award-winning Indian Actor & Producer made her presence felt recently at one such Pujo in the western suburb of Goregaon at the Anand Utsav Durga Puja.
Among the Founding Members of the Ananda Utsav Cultural Association which organises this annual Puja are the shipping industry stars, Capt. Abhijit Chattopadhyay and Capt. Shoukat Mukherjee who have been instrumental in forming the Association that has been celebrating 6 years of the Durga Puja, along with various other cultural, social and community activities including donations to NGO’s through the Association.
Paying tribute to Goddess Durga, Sengupta said she was fortunate to be present at the Thakurdalan, an iconic architectural element of Bengal recreated here to house Durga Ma. She said, “I am thankful to everyone for inviting me to this puja.”
She inaugurated the special ‘Nostalgia Zone’ amidst all her admirers, which featured yesteryear’s utilities like the Camera, Typewriter, Books, Rotary Dial phones and alike, recalling her many childhood memories.
Rituparna was seen all happy and cherishing every moment, mingling with her fans while awarding prizes to the successful winners of the online cooking competition.
She also released the Souvenir of the Anand Utsav Cultural Association, along with Bengali Actor Joy Banerjee, then present at the event, making it a double majaa to the crowds.
A musical band took over thereafter.
