Shyam Jagannathan Appointed New Director General

Mr Shyam Jagannathan, a 1997 batch IAS officer from Assam Meghalaya cadre, posted as development commissioner of the Santacruz Exclusive Export Processing Zone, Special Economic Zone, Mumbai, will now be the Director General (shipping) in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

He is to take over in the coming weeks from Mr. Rajiv Jalota, Chairman, Mumbai Port Authority, who has been officiating as the D G Shipping after the previous incumbent demitted office in February this year.

Jagannathan is on Central deputation (typically for five years) from 31 May 2021 and will have a three-year tenure as D G Shipping.
