02 HL – Uthaya Kumar takes charge as MANSA’s Secretary General

Mr K Uthaya Kumar has taken over the charge as Secretary General of Maritime Association of Nationwide Shipping Agencies – India (MANSA) from the current incumbent Mr CS Murty effective January 1.

 

Aided with a Masters in English coupled with a host of post Graduate Diplomas in, Port and Shipping Management, Public relations’, Marketing and sales Management, Mr Kumar has risen from the probationary officer of 1983 to that of the Head of the Traffic Department of Mumbai Port, spanning over a period of 38 years.

 

MANSA executive committee members remain greatly appreciative of the yeoman service rendered to the cause of ship-agents during his over a decade service to the association by Mr C S Murty and thanked the out-going secretary general and wished him all the very best for a healthy & peaceful retired life with his family.

 

MANSA President, Captain Ram Iyer added “Mr Murty had contributed immensely to the objectives of the ship agent’s association during his tenure and we shall remain indebted to his efforts in helping us achieve our goals during his long innings at MANSA.”

 

Welcoming Mr Uthaya Kumar on board, Captain Ram Iyer wished him the very best and assured him cooperation of all the members to help him execute the duties in the best possible manner.

 

Besides participating in a seminar at Antwerp, on ‘Inland waterways, Transport & Coastal Shipping’ organized by APEC, Mr Kumar has varied experience in the entire gamut of port operations and is an able administrator.
