The Delhi NCR Mariners Society, Delhi organised the 2nd T- 20 Cricket Tournament Mariners Premium League from 17th December to 22nd December 2021 at Backyard Sports Club. Total 7 teams participated that were divided into two groups. Group A consist of Synergy Mumbai; Shore Fleet; and Punjab Floaters; and Group B members were MCC Gurgaon; Doon Mariners; MOSC Chennai; and Lucknow Seafarers.

After the preliminary rounds, Synergy Mumbai and Lucknow Seafarers; and Doon Mariners and Shore Fleet made it to the semi-final round. For the finals there were good gathering at the ground of DPG ITM College in Gurgaon. Both teams had their small net practice before the match. The stadium was packed with sponsors, Mariners Society Members and many seafarers to cheer their respective teams.

Synergy Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first. They started in their usual fashion with 51 in 4.5 overs, where they lost their all-time favourite wicket in the form of Ajinkya Lad who became victim of Mohit Rawat. Shore Fleet now was full of confidence to pull the match and did so also with restricting opponents to 157.

Shore Fleet dugout was quite satisfied with their performance as they did not let go any extras today were exceptional on field with making 4 run-outs and Sandeep Sisodia taking two crucial wickets. Losing Nishu early did not make any effect on Kaushlendra Pratap Singh’s batting who had come with conviction to tell the opponents that today is my day. He laid the foundation with 78 in 51 and rest was taken care by Anil who showed some great shots scoring 61 in 49 eventually giving a comfortable win to their team.

So finally the Tournament was won by Shore Fleet. Man of the Match was Mr Kaushlendra Pratap Singh. Man of the Series and Best Batsman was no other then Ajinkya Lad. Best bowler award was shared between Vishal Bhange and Krishan Pal.

Capt R Poswal was kind enough to grace the occasion with his wife. He also gave the winning trophy.

of Capt Rakesh Sharma, Capt Indresh Kharbanda , Mr Khuman, Tushar Sharan – Prefix MR, Capt Nalwa and all members of Delhi NCR Mariners Society.

We must look upon to such events where we can have Mariners from different parts of India staying together and sharing with each other.
