A Leader in Shipping Education, Narottam Morarji Institute of Shipping (NMIS) celebrates its 43rd Annual Convocation ceremony on 25th February that was held at SCI auditorium, Mumbai. Over the last five decades, NMIS has developed various courses and created skilled manpower in shipping and allied fields. 158 students who completed their Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping Management and Logistics were awarded degrees by dignitaries in the 43rd Convocation program. Chief Guest, Capt Anoop Kumar Sharma, Ex-Chairman & Managing Director, SCI; Guest of honor Capt BK Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director, SCI; Chairman of the Institute Mr Atul Ubale; and Director, Dr Surjit Dhingra were the honorable dignitaries present.
Former Principal of Tolani Maritime Institute Dr Brijendra K Saxena was felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Award by ‘NMIS’. Capt Sharma said, “Many good opportunities are waiting for you in the field of shipping. ’NMIS’ is an organization that not only educates the youth but also creates opportunities for them to stand on their own feet.”
Capt Rahul Bhargava, GC Member, NMIS expressed his gratitude to those present. Mr Utkarsh Mishra bagged Seven Awards including Three Gold Medals, while Mr Anurag Ganguly won Three Gold Medals and six other Awards. Apart from this, students such as Mr Bharat Dhankani, Mr Karan Chandhok, Mr Sunil Bhoir, and Mr Tarun Joshi won many awards; and some students were honored with cash prizes.
